June 13, 2023 Session:

Artist Sherry Merrill works with club members at their June 13th session on paintings of their favorite spring flowers in beautiful pots or vases of their own creation.

May 10, 2023 Session:

We welcomed first time attendees Michael Stroster & Brenden Ferguson to our class. We started off our class by recognizing birthdays for Yuri Goga and Brenden Ferguson. Ms. Merrill’s project was a painting on canvas project combined with the creation of a flower pot out of designer construction paper that was then applied to the canvas using “modge podge”. Many of the members indicated their intention to give the finished projects as Mother’s Day gifts.

April 11, 2023 Session:

We began last night’s class with everyone taking part in a “gifting ceremony” where three members of the gifting committee representing the “100 Men Club” presented Michael Gielniak, Executive Director MiAA, with a donation in the amount of $10,000. This donation came as the result of my nomination of MiAA as my charity of choice at the “100 Men Club” March meeting. As the result of a selection and voting process by all “100 Men Club” members in attendance, MiAA was voted as the beneficiary of $100 in donations from 100 Men totaling $10,000. In addition to this award, at this same March meeting, Fredi Bello, known as “Fredi The Pizza Man” whose charity “Fredi The Pizza Man Foundation” was the recipient of the December 2022 “100 Men CLub” award, made a personal donation to MiAA of $2000. Michael Gielniak, is pictured below with three “100 Men Club” members accepting the award that he indicated would be used to fund the startup of 3 new Club Create chapters across the state.

Ms. Henry’s project included some new and very creative opportunities for members using a variety of methods and techniques to create “stained glass” type images that can be attached to a sun facing window, casting vibrant colors and images across any room. Many of the members indicated their intention to give the finished projects as gifts to family members or friends. Thank you to Gloria and her assistant (and daughter and CCNOC member Sarah) for bringing this unique and interesting project to CCNOC.

February 14, 2023 Session:

Members applied glaze to their projects that were previously cured in a kiln. Members chose different glaze colors for their bud vase or their wall plaque that will go back into the kiln for a final cure.

December 13 Session

This was the first ceramic project introduced to our members. Leigh Ann Charpie and Erin Kelch were our instructors for the class and both did a wonderful job leading members through the project. Members chose one of two projects that will be completed over two classes. The clay pieces will be fired in a kiln and when this class meets again in February 2023, members will apply glaze and additional decorations to complete their works of art.

September 13 Session

We had a full house at our September 13 session. Artist, Sherry Merrill did a wonderful job working with the members on a fall tree and landscape painting.

Club Create North Oakland County Reopens!

The club members were excited to return to in-person sessions on May 3rd after being closed for 2 years due to Covid19. Within a few minutes it was like they had never been apart! Robert White formally welcomed every and many of the artists who have worked with the group over the years were on hand as well, which made it feel like a family reunion.

Robert White welcomes everyone, makes introductions and acknowledges birthdays

Carol Eberhardt introduced the members to a Q-tip painting project, and they quickly jumped into the creative process.
