Give the Gift of Self Expression

Can you image a life where you could not express your thoughts and emotions? Where everything inside you was locked in a vault?

Every day throughout Michigan thousands of special education students struggle to express their thoughts, feelings and emotions due to cognitive impairments or physical disability. Donate now to help Michigan Arts Access provide special education students with adaptive arts instruction that allow these children to express themselves without barriers.

Students in Special Education Centers and Contained Classrooms do not receive any arts instruction as part of their curriculum, unlike their general education peers. We see this as a social justice issue, but MiAA currently only has the funding to reach about 10% of these students. Through visual arts, music, dance and the dramatic arts, our trained artists give children the tools to unlock healthy communication through creative expression and experience the power of their own creativity.
