Michigan Arts Access is always looking for new Teaching Artists in music, dance(creative movement), the dramatic arts and the visual arts. This fall we have specific needs in three of our regional affiliates. We are currently looking for visual artists in the Flint Area (Genesee County Affiliate) and Gaylord (Tip of the Mitten Affiliate) as well as a music educator metro Detroit. The ideal candidate will have an arts education background, a flexible daytime schedule, and be excited to work with students and/or adults with disabilities.

MiAA Teaching Artists receive a generous hourly rate, are trained to make accommodations in their art form, and are supported throughout the year. The support includes online monthly Artist Cohort sessions and the annual Teaching Artist Community of Practice retreat.

This year’s retreat will be held at the MacMullen Center in North Higgins Lake State Park from the evening of Friday, August 14 through the afternoon of Sunday, August 16.
