Michigan Arts Access is the state organization for arts and disabilities, with six regional affiliates. The Affiliate Committees play an important role in achieving our mission. Affiliate Committee members are volunteers with a stake in the mission to create an inclusive society where people with disabilities of all ages may participate in, learn through, excel in and enjoy the arts. Therefore, our Affiliate Committees consist of educators, parents and other disability advocates, artists and community leaders. The committees identify needs within the community and help raise the funds necessary to implement the programs to meet those needs.
Michigan Arts Access has three main programs. All Means All supports adult professional and aspiring artists with disabilities. Our Artist-in-Residence program provides an equitable arts education for the many special education students in Michigan who do not receive any arts instruction. And our Club Create chapters provide a social and creative outlet for adults with significant disabilities.
Our affiliates are always looking for:
- Volunteers
- People with talent in all art forms
- Passionate people to serve on the affiliate committee
- Individual donors and corporate sponsors
